چکیده

In this paper we evaluated a performance of a client-server system on a hi-loaded LAN with behaviors of user applications. We selected an educational client-server system as a sample of such systems. This simulation was performed by an event-driven simulation model that have detailed models of multi-layer protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, NFS and FTP). We evaluated the Ethernet states under the use of NFS and FTP by average stall rate which defined in this paper. From this result, the maximum numbers of client workstations for practical use and extreme use in an Ethernet collision domain are shown. あらまし

Simulation Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Local Area Networks

This doctoral thesis deals with the design of simulation model for performance evaluation of LANs which have highly-transient input-load and the performance evaluation of LANs for educational computer systems with the simulation model. Large scale distributed workstation systems are widely used at computer training centers in universities in Japan. These systems have many registered users more ...

Performance Evaluation of New Methods of Automatic Redirection for Load Balancing of Apache Servers Distributed in the Internet

An overloaded web server will lose incoming requests resulting in a “404 error” appearing at a client browser. Front-end application-level switches can redirect requests to less loaded servers. However, there exist no native methods within common web servers to automatically redirect requests for reducing load. We develop and evaluate changes to the open source Apache HTTP server to automatical...

A Retargetable Full System Simulator for Thin Client Platform

There are varieties of hardware designs in high-end embedded systems, and the applications on it cover embedded areas and low-end desktop areas. Thin client is a typical high-embedded system in client/server and browser/server environment, which combines local and remote computing resources. This paper presents the design and implementation of Unichos, a full system simulator for thin client pl...

Performance evaluation of a distributed telerobotic framework

In this paper we present the performance evaluation of a Distributed Component based Telerobotic Framework that implements a real-time interaction between a telrobotic client and server. The objective is to optimize delays in multistreaming of force feedback, stereo data and master-slave commands. Different scenarios are considered and statistically analyzed to relate the effect of thread manip...

An Adaptive Approach for Downloading Replicated Web Resources

The success of a Web service is largely dependent on its responsiveness (i.e., its availability and timeliness) in the delivery of the information its users (clients) require. A practical approach to the provision of responsive Web services is based on introducing redundancy in the service by replicating the service itself across a number of servers geographically distributed over the Internet....
